Subject: More Fun With Previews

OK, let's summarize:
I posted a few days ago that I had problems with PC LW crashing when I
tried to create a preview. Since then, I've managed to get it to
supposedly generate a preview, but when the playback controls come up,
all I see is a blank screen. I've been told to do the following/given
this advice from different users:
1 - Previews don't work in the current version, but will work in the
release version.
2 - Upgrade to windows 3.11 (I have 3.1).
3 - Upgrade to NT
4 - According to the FAQ, the no preview problem can be caused by old
drivers for your video card. I FTP'd new drivers from the Diamond site
(I'm currently using a Speedstar Pro), but this didn't make a difference.
So, I'm asking does the preview function actually work in the current
version? If so, will upgrading to a better (and I use that word loosely
when talking about windows) version of windows do the trick? Or is there
something else that I'm missing?
Oh, and if the preview function works under NT, why doesn't it work under
windows? Just curious.
